On August 29-30, David Buckley, Chairman of The Yehudi Menuhin School UK Board of Governors, made another professional visit to The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao.
During the visit, Mr. Buckley toured the newly added practice rooms, observed teacher training sessions and lesson preparation for the new academic year, and engaged in in-depth discussions with teachers from various music departments and the academic division. These conversations covered topics such as educational methods, student outcomes, curriculum design, and professional practice. Mr. Buckley expressed his admiration, noting that since its establishment, The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao, under the leadership of President Lu Siqing, has continuously explored and implemented new models of music education, achieving remarkable progress and rapid development in all aspects.
Mr. Buckley also chaired the regular work meeting between the two schools, where he received a report on the achievements of the past academic year and reviewed future plans and initiatives for the new year. The meeting covered key topics such as teaching support, regular interactions, resource sharing, and student and staff exchange programs between the UK and Qingdao campuses.
During the visit, Mr. Buckley also attended and witnessed the signing ceremony between The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao and the Dongrun Foundation, which established the "Dongrun Stardust Scholarship." He delivered a speech at the event, expressing his support for the partnership.
