Music connects the world, it brings people closer and strike a sympathetic chord with each other. As Master Yehudi Menuhin said: "Music expresses people's emotions and thoughts, cultivates the mind and reason, and is a good teacher and friend for children and young people".
The Yehudi Menuhin School in England is world-renowned as a cradle of talented musicians, and I am honored to have been chosen by the school at the age of 11 to be a student of Master Yehudi Menuhin and to learn about life and art here, which became one of the most important experiences of my artistic journey. Forty years later today, with the flourishing of music art, especially classical music in the Orient, I am excited that her only sister school were to settled in China, in my hometown, Qingdao, which has the reputation of "Island of Violin".
The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao has taken on a great and glorious mission since its birth. As the sister school of the world-renowned Yehudi Menuhin School, it has brought together world-class musicians, teachers and management team of international stature, and has established an extensive and close link with prestigious music conservatoires and universities. With the full support from the Chinese education authority and the organizer Qingdao Urban Construction Group, the Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao will become a music school with significant influence on the international stage and a new cradle for future musicians in the Orient.
