He was a young violinist who began his journey in Qingdao—at the age of four, in an old house on Gansu Road, drawing his first notes from a hand-drawn score made by his father.
He is a musical traveler remembered by the world—at seventeen, he made “Lu Siqing” the first Eastern name in the history of the Paganini Prize.
He is an educator returning to his roots—more than four decades later, bringing the spirit of Master Yehudi Menuhin and the philosophy of “holistic education” back to where the dream began.
On December 16 at 4:00 PM, Lu Siqing—Founding President and Violin Professor of The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao, and an internationally renowned violinist—will present the “Lu Siqing and Friends” Special Concert in the Menuhin Hall. This concert is a journey written in music, tracing the growth of an artist, the nourishment of a city, and the vision of a school.
During the performance, Lu Siqing will not only perform several moving and brilliant pieces, but will also join teachers and students of The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao on stage to interpret classics together—a vivid, unfolding act of mentorship and legacy.
From a Qingdao violin student to a world-renowned master, from an alumnus of the Yehudi Menuhin School in England to the Founding President of The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao—this beautiful circle of artistry also illuminates the boundless future of young music lovers.
On December 16, let us listen together to Lu Siqing’s musical story.
