In its three years since establishment, The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao has achieved outstanding educational results and gained international recognition with the support of all sectors of society and within Qingdao’s fertile artistic environment. It has become a pride of Qingdao and one of the most important landmarks of the "Island of Music." This concert marks its first New Year performance beyond the campus, featuring a fresh lineup—a spectacle truly worth anticipating!

A Group of International Musicians Dedicated to Holistic Education

The performers include internationally renowned violinist Lu Siqing, who embarked on his journey from Qingdao to the world and returned as the Founding President of The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao after being an outstanding alumnus of the Yehudi Menuhin School in the UK. They are joined by international musicians who have come from around the world to settle in Qingdao, supporting the dreams of young music lovers. These individuals are not only accomplished performers but also educators with extensive K–12 teaching experience. On this special evening, they will join the students in presenting a magnificent performance to welcome the New Year for the city of Qingdao.

A Group of Young Music Lovers Bringing Honor to Qingdao and China

The young students of The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao have already begun to make their way from Qingdao to top music conservatories worldwide, consistently winning prestigious international competitions and performing on world-renowned stages. At the same time, they have brought music to Qingdao’s schools, communities, nursing homes, and have appeared on charity stages both in China and abroad. The performers include outstanding current students from various disciplines at the school, as well as distinguished alumni such as Wang Weikuan, who has specially returned from The Juilliard School in the United States to join this concert. No matter how far they journey, they never forget the home port where their dreams set sail.

A Touching Musical Tribute

This inaugural New Year concert by The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao will feature timeless classics by Vivaldi, Piazzolla, Liszt, Tchaikovsky, Wagner, and Verdi, alongside masterpieces rich in distinctive Chinese character, as well as serene and heartfelt movements dedicated uniquely to Qingdao. The joint dedication of teachers and students sharing the stage highlights the passing on of artistic tradition, ensuring that every piece is imbued with the deepest blessings.
