Our Musical Moments | Piano Student Concert: Listening to the Sound of Growth

On 19 January at 7:00 pm, the Keyboard Department of The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao will present “Our Musical Moments (III) – Piano Student Concert”. This is not only a wonderful performance at the start of the new year, but also a celebration of growth.

Students from Grades 1 to 11 will take to the stage in turn, telling their stories with music through Chopin’s waltzes, Debussy’s Rêverie, the passion of Rachmaninoff, and Zhang Zhao’s Kangding Love Song and Pi Huang.

On the significance of stage practice, Professor Xu Fei, Head of the Keyboard Department, offers a profound insight: “The growth of a performer is inseparable from the tempering of the stage. At The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao, ‘taking the stage’ is a required course for every student. The Keyboard Department carefully plans a wealth of performance opportunities for each student. Whether it be lunchtime concerts, weekly departmental concerts, themed concerts, or special events like ‘Our Musical Moments’, all are designed to enable students to learn to communicate, build confidence, and understand the true essence of music in real performance settings. This training model of ‘learning through performance’ is a vivid embodiment of our holistic education philosophy in the professional realm.”

We cordially invite all music-loving families, both from within and outside the school, to join us and listen, to feel the sincerity and power flowing from the keys, and to witness how every ordinary day forges extraordinary moments on stage.
