Throughout his previous tenure as a visiting professor at our institution, Professor Wang's exceptional instructional methodology, distinguished research expertise, and wealth of performance and mentorship experience left an indelible impression on our students. His courses have been consistently well-regarded and enthusiastically received by our student body. As we look forward to the forthcoming academic year, Professor Wang's permanent appointment promises to invigorate our pedagogical team, providing a significant impetus for the budding musical aspirations of our young philharmonic students at The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao.

Professor Wang Hong's illustrious career includes training under the tutelage of the renowned violin educator, Professor Wang Zhenshan. Graduating with top honors from the Central Conservatory of Music's Orchestra Department in 1988, he subsequently held the distinguished position of principal second violinist in the China Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra. Since July 1999, he has brought his considerable teaching talents to the violin specialization at the Central Conservatory of Music, whilst further honing his pedagogical skills under the guidance of the respected violin educator, Professor Lin Yaoji. During this time, Professor Wang also played the second violin in the string quartet of the Central Conservatory of Music. This role led him to participate in a number of distinguished performances at globally recognized festivals, such as the Beijing International Music Festival and the Memphis Modern Music Festival in the United States. Additionally, he had the esteemed opportunity to partake in masterclasses conducted by renowned musical virtuosos, including Isaac Stern, Mstislav Leopoldovich “Slava” Rostropovich, and the eminent Hungarian Kodály Quartet. Alongside these commitments, he also held the esteemed role of Associate Principal Second Violinist with the China Philharmonic Orchestra.
Throughout his career, Professor Wang has been called upon to adjudicate various high-profile violin competitions both domestically and internationally. These include Germany's Kloster Schöntal International Violin Competition, the US-based Stradivarius International Violin Competition, the China Central Television Cup Piano and Violin Competition, the Chengdu Guangya Violin Invitational Competition, and the Yibaihui International Art Festival Violin Competition in Beijing. In addition to his judging roles, he frequently assumes the roles of director and professor in events such as the Kloster Schöntal Masterclasses for Violin in Germany, the London Bridge International Music Academy’s String Masterclasses in the UK, the Singapore Violin Festival, the String Masterclasses in Zhuhai, the Mintz International Masterclasses for Violin, and the Liangzhu International Violin Art Festival in Hangzhou. In addition, he maintains a regular teaching schedule at various esteemed institutions, including the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, the Macau Conservatory, the Xinghai Conservatory of Music, the Wuhan Conservatory of Music, and the Sichuan Conservatory of Music, all located in China.
Under Professor Wang's tutelage, students have achieved impressive successes across an array of prestigious national and international violin competitions. Their accolades span numerous events, such as the International LOUIS SPOHR Competition for Young Violinists and the Kloster Schöntal International Violin Competition, both held in Germany, the Zhuhai International Mozart Competition for Young Musicians, the Andrea Postacchini International Violin Competition in Italy, and the National Youth Violin Competition hosted by the Chinese Ministry of Culture, to name but a few. Notably, many of Professor Wang's students have gone on to prestigious careers in the field of music, either by joining the faculty of respected music institutions or performing with renowned orchestras worldwide.
