The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao Holds Grand Opening Ceremony, Launching a New Chapter of Diverse Education

As the autumn season quietly approaches, The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao celebrated its new academic year with a grand opening ceremony on September 2. Students returned to campus with renewed enthusiasm, officially embarking on the school's new journey of diverse education.

The entire school community gathered in the Menuhin Hall to celebrate the occasion. Ms. Zheng Ran, Head of The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao, delivered an inspiring speech, outlining the academic goals for the new school year. She emphasized the importance of diverse learning methods, the continuous optimization of advanced evaluation systems, and the wide application of new learning platforms. She also previewed a variety of enriching activities for the year, including a Mental Health Month and a Multicultural Festival. Ms. Ran Zheng reaffirmed the school’s commitment to nurturing the brilliance of music and fostering cultural enrichment in every student. She encouraged the students to "not only pursue academic excellence but also to be courageous in expressing themselves, enhancing their personal skills, and together writing a remarkable chapter at The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao."

Music teacher representative Ms. Huang Xiaonan passionately introduced the highlights of the music curriculum for the new academic year. From technical mastery to artistic interpretation, stage performance to creative practice, each aspect is filled with challenges and opportunities, igniting the students' enthusiasm and anticipation for the year ahead.

 

Ms. Yu Lei, representing the academic faculty, shared the educators’ vision as guides in academic learning. She emphasized that the teachers' responsibilities extend beyond imparting knowledge—they aim to help students transcend cultural boundaries, developing a global perspective and cross-cultural communication skills. Ms. Yu introduced the new teaching plan, which includes deepening curriculum reforms, fostering innovative teaching methods, enhancing student-teacher interaction, strengthening language instruction, and focusing on character education. The goal is to cultivate well-rounded, cross-cultural talents.

 

During the ceremony, Shao Mingxuan, a new student majoring in cello, gave a speech on behalf of the incoming students, expressing his strong belief in becoming a professional cellist at The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao. Senior student Wang Qianwen shared her own experiences, encouraging the newcomers to face challenges bravely and cherish every moment at the school. Her words were filled with expectations and blessings for the new students, reflecting the deep bonds and traditions between the students at The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao.

 

The parent of Liu Zewen, one of the first piano students since the school's inception, also spoke during the ceremony, sharing their child’s growth story. As a parent representative, she expressed her deep appreciation for the school's holistic education approach. She noted that since joining the school, her child had made significant progress in both musical skills and academic performance, while also developing a wide range of interests and social skills. She thanked the school for providing high-quality educational resources and a nurturing environment, and she looked forward to her child continuing to shine in the future.
