On July 1st, the Menuhin Hall was filled with warmth and joy as all primary and middle school teachers, students, parent representatives, school leaders, and guests gathered together to witness the 2025 primary and middle school graduation ceremony and semester closing ceremony. Themed "ONE TEAM - Grow Together, Chase Dreams," the ceremony marked a fulfilling conclusion to a rich learning journey and set sail for future dreams.
The ceremony kicked off with the clear voices of hosts Chen Yijun (G9) and Wang Yaxi (G6). On behalf of all teachers and students, they extended a warm welcome to the leaders, teachers, and parent friends present.
Capturing Moments, Messaging the Future
A specially produced feature video took everyone on a journey through the growth of Grade 6 and Grade 9 students. The images of diligent practice in the music rooms, focused learning in classrooms, shining moments on stage, and laughter shared with companions all transformed into precious memories, resonating with the entire audience.
President Siqing Lu delivered heartfelt remarks to the graduates. He congratulated the Grade 6 young musicians on successfully completing their primary education, encouraging them to maintain their dreams and exploratory spirit, bravely try new things, learn happily, and continuously discover a broader world. For the Grade 9 graduates about to enter high school, he acknowledged their solid steps during middle school and expressed his hope that they would carry the "IPICK" spirit of Menuhin's holistic education, bravely face challenges, and continuously surpass themselves.
Students' Voices, Gratitude for Growth
The most touching narratives of growth come from those who experienced it firsthand. Grade 6 graduate representative Zhang Yichen delivered a sincere and moving speech in fluent English. She passionately recollected her growth at YMSQ expressing gratitude for the excellent platform provided by the school and the careful guidance of the teachers. She realized that YMSQ is a loving family, and true artistic attainment requires passion, perseverance, and a deep understanding of the stories behind the music.
Grade 9 graduate representative Li Yida shared, with vivid language, his transformation from innocence to confidence over the three years of middle school. He humorously recalled the funny incidents of "taking three days to find the classroom and two days to figure out the way to the dining hall" when he first arrived on campus. He emotionally depicted the earnest teachings of teachers in class, the warm lights on in the practice rooms at night, and the deep friendships forged through struggling, laughing, and crying together with classmates. He realized that growth is a journey of waiting for the blossom of flowers, and he will continue to write wonderful chapters in his future high school life.
Teachers' Wisdom, Warm Admonitions
On the students' growth journey, teachers have always been the most solid guides. Teacher Zhang Xueying from the Keyboard Department spoke on behalf of all teachers. She looked back on the students' outstanding performances on international stages, school activities, and masterclasses, emphasizing that these valuable experiences vividly reflect the school's "holistic education" philosophy. She mentioned that at YMSQ, music is a bridge to understanding the world and expressing oneself, a language that transcends borders. Students should refine their character through music learning—persevering through setbacks, learning to listen and collaborate, and possessing boundless imagination—transforming into the strength to overcome obstacles in the future, allowing them to bloom even more splendidly on broader stages.
The beloved teacher Jakub also brought his unique blessings and admonitions. He shared the challenges and joys of learning, praising the students' perseverance, creativity, and thirst for knowledge. He emphasized that graduation is not just about receiving a certificate but more importantly about carrying the skills, knowledge, and experiences accumulated at YMSQ and maintaining that "hunger" for excellence. He encouraged the graduates to view today as a "crescendo" in life and bravely move forward with this light.
Home-School Unity, Cultivating Future Musicians Together
As a parent representative, the parent of Chen Yijun from Grade 9 shared her child's transformation from an ordinary amateur piano student to a music-loving Menuhin student. She especially expressed gratitude for the abundant stage opportunities provided by the school and the "loving tolerance, selfless dedication, and firm support" of all teachers for the children. She emotionally mentioned that her child sincerely thanks the teachers and companions, and this "gratitude" brings her more comfort than excellent grades.
Moments of Glory, Setting Sail
The ceremony reached the solemn and warm certificate awarding segment.
· Primary and middle school graduates took to the stage in turn to receive their graduation certificates from Head Su Wenjie. They also received exquisite graduation gifts and commemorative cards.
