On November 9-10, at the invitation of the Qingdao Municipal Government, Mr. John Mclean OBE, Chairman of the China UK Business Development Centre (CUKBDC), Senior Advisor to the China Chamber of Commerce in the UK, and Chairman of the City of London Board, visited Qingdao with his delegation. During their visit, Mr. Mclean and his delegation made a special trip to The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao.

Mr. Mclean conducted a detailed tour of the campus, teaching facilities, and performance spaces, and held in-depth discussions with the school's leadership. He expressed that The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao is an outstanding achievement of in-depth Sino-British collaboration in the field of education and culture. In just over three years, it has cultivated numerous exceptional young musicians who are now pursuing advanced studies and performances worldwide, including in the United Kingdom. Undoubtedly, the school is becoming a "cradle for future musicians" and an important link fostering friendly exchanges between China and the UK.
Mr. Mclean also fondly recalled the visit of the student and faculty delegation from The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao to the UK in February this year. The delegation was invited to perform at the 2025 "China-UK Philanthropy, Building Harmony Together" Chinese New Year Charity Concert, delivering a remarkable performance at this Sino-British charitable event. He stated that he very much looks forward to enjoying another performance by students from The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao in London during the 2026 New Year celebrations. The China UK Business Development Centre will continue to leverage its international resources to support the future development of The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao and its young musicians.
