In the new academic year, every Wednesday from 12:50 to 13:20 becomes a specially marked time in every YMSQ student’s schedule. This is one of the new scenes for the new school year at YMSQ, marking the beginning of the weekly midday concerts. On September 6th, the second week after the new school year commenced, four students from different specialties took the stage. On May 10th, The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao commenced the third installment of its Professional Etiquette Lecture series. President Lu Siqing personally led the lecture titled 'Beyond the Melody: Stage Presence for Musicians.'

On April 14th, another enriching session of the Professional Etiquette Lecture series took place. This session focused on chamber music and was hosted by teacher Ding Zuo, with Associate Professor of Violin, Cai Lei, as the main speaker.

On the 10th of March, 2023, Ms. Tian Zhenming, a registered mental health counsellor from the state of New York, global peace ambassador for the Malaysian Global Peace Summit, and a graduate in clinical psychology from Columbia University, visited The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao.

Yudi Liu is a flute participant from Urumqi, Xinjiang province. She has been learning flute for 6 years and is also talented in Tai Chi and calligraphy. For Yudi, the process of learning the flute has not been easy. However, she has learned that every setback she has encountered so far has played a significant role in enhancing her flute playing. Introducing Yijia Ma, a participant of The YMSQ “Young Talents” Programme. Yijia began playing the violin after her brother’s musical influence. Her hobby in studying the instrument gradually became serious after she realized the charm of the violin. Yijia often plays with her brother, who is learning piano. The interaction between different instruments have deepened her love and interest in learning the violin professionally. We are hopeful in seeing Yijia’s growth on her violin study.
