Wang Ziwen graduated from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore, with an Honors Bachelor’s Degree, during which she received a full scholarship and studied under renowned cellist Professor Qin Liwei. She subsequently earned a Master of Music in Performance from the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig, Germany, studying under cellist Professor Peter Hörr and Professor Veronika Wilhelm, Principal Cellist of the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra. She also obtained the highest performance diploma (Konzertexamen) from the University of Music Mainz, Germany, under the guidance of cellists Professor Manuel Fischer-Dieskau and Professor Katharina Deserno.
Wang Ziwen won First Prize at the VIII Agustín Aponte International Music Competition in Spain. In the field of chamber music, she received the Gold Prize at the "Grand Prize Virtuoso" International Competition in Bonn, Germany, and Second Prize at the "Concorso Gasparo da Salò" International Chamber Music Competition in Italy. During her overseas studies, she was selected to attend several prestigious international music festivals, including the Aspen Music Festival and School (USA), the Sarasota Music Festival (USA), the Domaine Forget Music Festival (Canada), the Cello Akademie Rutesheim (Germany), the London Master Class (UK), the Brescia Summer Masterclass (Italy), and the Great Mountain Music Festival and School (South Korea). While completing her undergraduate studies in Singapore, she represented her conservatory in exchange programs with the Shanghai Orchestra Academy and the Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra. In chamber music, she has received guidance from the Shanghai Quartet and the Hagen Quartet.
Wang Ziwen currently also teaches at the Tianjin Juilliard School as a cello instructor in the Music Development Program and performs with the Qingxin Chamber Ensemble, dedicating herself to cello education and performance. During her studies abroad, she served with the Staatstheater Mainz Orchestra and the Leipzig Symphony Orchestra in Germany, and was invited as a cello instructor at the 22nd Summer Music Festival of Silpakorn University, Thailand.
