He Qing graduated from Tianjin Conservatory of Music in 1998 with a Master’s degree in Musicology. In 2001, he established the Classical Guitar program at the Tianjin Conservatory of Music and its affiliated secondary school, where he has served as the primary instructor. He completed visiting scholar programs twice at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover (Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media) in Germany, in 2003 and 2014.

He Qing has served as a judge at several major international competitions, including the Iserlohn International Guitar Competition in Germany and the Alessandria International Guitar Competition in Italy. He has published multiple academic papers, authored the textbook Key Techniques for Classical Guitar Study, and translated Sor's Method for the Spanish Guitar. Under his guidance, his students have won over 50 first-place prizes in various domestic and international guitar competitions.
