Qiao Yelu was admitted to the Xinghai Conservatory of Music's orchestral department in 2008, where he studied under Professor Yan Qi. In 2013, he furthered his studies at the University of Music Karlsruhe in Germany, pursuing a master’s degree in flute performance under Renate Greiss-Armin and Mathias Allin, graduating with distinction. He commenced his Solistenexzamen (doctoral program) in early 2016, served as a flute teaching assistant, and from 2017, studied under Pirmin Grehl. During his studies, he collaborated with notable musicians such as clarinetist Eduard Brunner, French musician-composer Gérard Buquet, and conductors Mario Venzago, Sir Simon Rattle, and Ralf Gothóni, finishing his studies in 2018 with top honors.
Qiao Yelu won second place at the Cittadella International Flute Competition in Italy and secured fifth place and the "Most Memorable to Audiences" award at the National Woodwind Competition in Japan. His performance of François Couperin's "Concerts Royaux" at the Handel Academy's closing concert in Germany was highly praised by SWR (Southwest German Radio), which commended his skillful Baroque style rendition on a modern metal flute.
In 2018, Qiao Yelu joined the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, serving as the associate principal flutist until 2024. He performed internationally in various countries, including Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia, Germany, and North Korea, and participated in significant events such as the 70th anniversary of the PRC and the 20th anniversary of Macau's return to China. He also collaborated with orchestras like the Harbin Symphony Orchestra, Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, and Macau Orchestra.
Qiao Yelu's students have been admitted to prestigious music institutions, including the Frankfurt University of Music and the University of Music Karlsruhe.
