As a highly reputable pianist, Xian Jinsong is a Steinway Artist, Associate Professor of Piano at the Xinghai Conservatory of Music, the Vice-chairman of Guangdong Piano Association and Council Member of Piano Society of China Music Association.

Xian studied under the guidance of Professor Li Qi, Zheng Liqin, and Wu Yuan. After he graduated from the Middle School affiliated to Central Conservatory of Music, Xian was admitted to Folkwang Universität der Künste studying piano performance under the guidance of Professor Bulatov (well-known piano educator in Russia), Professor Bixian Chen from Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, and Professor Malinin (student and teaching assistant of piano educator Neuhaus and former Director of Piano Department of Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory).

Since returning to China, Xian’s students have won many awards from competitions nationally and internationally. For the past three years, he has held lectures on "German Piano Teaching Methods " in Guangdong province and in the Pearl River Delta region. In 2016, Xian compiled the piano textbook "Newly Compiled Czerny Piano Etudes" published by the Shanghai Education Publishing House. In 2017, Xian, as the convenor and chief editor participated in China’s first compilation and formulation of foundational teaching for piano teachers: “The Standard for Piano Teaching Practitioners in Social Art Education”, which was officially released to public at the National Grand Theater of China in Beijing that same year. In 2019, Xian’s concert album of Beethoven's Piano Sonatas was released by China Record Company.Apart from his busy teaching schedule, Xian has given  recitals across the country, including “Liszt's 200th birthday concert -- Liszt Works Appreciation Concert”, “Rachmaninoff's 24 Preltos Appreciation concert”, and “190th anniversary of Beethoven's Death -- Beethoven's Piano Sonatas Series Concert”.
