Li Deqin currently serves as Guest Principle at the China Philharmonic Orchestra. He is also Associate Professor at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and teaches at Hochschule für Musik FRANZ LISZT Weimar. He received "10 Distinguished Young Trumpetist of China" from CCTV.
Li Deqin began to study playing trumpet in 1998 under the guidance of Mr. Wang Wei, teacher at Middle School affiliated to Shenyang Conservatory of Music. He was admitted to Shanghai Conservatory in 2004 and studied with renowned trumpetist Prof. Chen Jiamin.
Li Deqin joined the China Philharmonic Orchestra in 2008 and toured with this orchestra to Japan, Singapore, the United States, Germany, Italy and many other countries in the world. He performed with the China Philharmonic Orchestra at the BBC Proms in 2014.
In 2014, Li Deqin was admitted to Hochschule für Musik FRANZ LISZT Weimar to pursue his master’s degree under the guidance of Professor Uwe Komischke. He began his study at Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart in 2015 with renowned trumpet soloist Wolfgang Bauer. He received his doctor’s degree from Hochschule für Musik FRANZ LISZT Weimar in 2017.
Li Deqin collaborated with the China Philharmonic Orchestra as a soloist frequently, the last time being his performance in Peter Ruzicka’s Nachtstück on November 30th, 2013.
