Shi He is a third-generation pianist of the renowned Cortot School in France, having studied under Michel Dalberto and Francoise Buffet, both second-generation representatives of the Cortot tradition. At the age of 14, he began his studies in France, becoming one of the few Chinese musicians to attend and graduate from both of the country’s top conservatories with the highest academic credentials. Shi was awarded the Gold Medal at the International Piano Competition in Châteauroux, France, and at 17, he gave a solo recital at the Nohant Chopin International Festival, where he was hailed by local media as "a new generation piano prodigy from China." At 18, he was unanimously admitted to the piano programme at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP). By 20, he earned the prestigious Artist Diploma from the École Normale de Musique de Paris (ENMP), becoming the youngest Chinese pianist to receive this distinction. At 22, he completed his chamber music studies with unanimous approval and high praise from the jury, marking the beginning of his professional career.

Shi has performed solo recitals at prestigious venues, including La Salle Cortot in Paris, where his performance was recorded and featured by the French magazine PIANIST. He has also appeared at major international festivals, such as the Clara Haskil International Music Festival in Switzerland, the Nice Summer International Music Festival, the Ravel International Festival in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, the Nohant Chopin International Festival, and the Forlane International Music Festival. Upon returning to China, he toured extensively, performing at leading venues such as the Shenyang Shengjing Grand Theatre, Shanghai Oriental Art Centre, Baoding Guan Hanqing Grand Theatre, Liaoyang Grand Theatre, Tangshan Grand Theatre, and Yantai Grand Theatre.

His performances have earned acclaim from European experts. Michel Beroff, the distinguished French piano educator, praised his playing as "astonishing." David Lively, former director of the École Normale de Musique de Paris, described his interpretations as "flawless," while Claire Desert lauded his "innate and incomparable musical sensitivity."

Shi is also an accomplished chamber musician, with extensive experience in ensemble performance and musical coaching. His piano-violin duo, Duo Nosva, achieved top scores and first-place rankings in every examination at the conservatory. The duo performed regularly at salon concerts across Paris, with Catherine Cantin, principal flautist of the Orchestre de l’Opéra National de Paris, praising their performances as “subtle and intellectually brilliant.”

In the field of teaching, Shi carries forward the core principles of the Cortot School. He is highly skilled in harmony and musical analysis, with a unique ability to interpret works from a composer’s perspective. His teaching career began in France at the age of 15, where he developed his own teaching methods over the years, gaining extensive experience with students of all ages. At 22, he was appointed Artistic Director of the New Century School of Music and Arts in Paris, where he oversaw the development and refinement of its curriculum. Since joining the faculty of The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao, Shi has led the development of the school’s distinctive piano examination syllabus under the direction of the keyboard department head. He also pioneered the innovative “Piano Technique Class,” part of the school’s experimental curriculum. Many of Shi’s students have been accepted into prestigious institutions worldwide, including the École Normale de Musique de Paris, the Royal Academy of Music, the Royal Northern College of Music, the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and the Mannes School of Music in the United States.
