Wei Wei, Violin Professor, Supervisor of Master’s students, Head of Orchstral Instruments Department at Xinghai Conservatory of Music, Chairman of Guangdong Violin Education Society. Wei graduated from the Central Conservatory of Music and studied with famous violinist Professor Zhenshan Wang.
Wei has won many national violin competitions, including the Guangzhou Top-Ten Musicians Award. He was the Chairman of the Executive Committee and Judge of the 2014 – 2019 Hong Kong International String Competition; Honorary Teacher of the Eighth Hong Kong International Violin Competition; International Excellent Mentor of the 2016 Hong Kong International String Competition and International String Education Symposium; Appointed Judge of national competitions including the 55th International Violin Competition Premio Paganini Pre-Selection Stage in Guangzhou; 2008 and 2011 CCTV Piano and Violin Competition, and 11th National Violin Competition.
Throughout Wei’s educational career, his students have also won many awards in competitions, and many are enrolled in orchestras including the Asian Youth Orchestra, Pacific Philharmonia Tokyo, Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Opera House, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, and Sydney Opera House, Australia.
Wei has performed worldwide and given over hundred solo and chamber recitals. Published CDs including Red Strings in 2005; Lieder in 2012, and his published article “Left-hand technique and music interpretation in violin playing” has won the First Prize in the 3rd Huaxia Essay Competition.
