Gu Cong has been highly appreciated and appraised by German magazines, newspapers and other media during his time in Germany.

Since returning to China, he has been invited as a faculty in many major art festivals, such as Beijing Horn Art Festival, Sichuan Horn Art Festival, Shenzhen Horn Art Festival and Japan Asian Horn Art Festival. 

As a soloist, he has been invited by Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, China National Symphony Orchestra and Qingdao Symphony Orchestra. 

His "60 Koplache Etudes" and "34 Muller Etudes" were published on multiple music platforms, making him the first horn player in China to record a complete set of etudes which established a profound influence on horn teaching.
