Violinist, Dr. Boyang Wang is a native of Beijing, China and currently serves as the President’s Assistant of the Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao.

 

Wang has garnered awards at national and international levels, including gold medalist of China National violin competition, prize winner of Tucson International Instrumental Competition, winner of MTNA National Competition Young Artist State and Central Division, and semifinalist of International Young Concert Artists of New York. In 2016, he performed Bartok Violin Concerto No. 2 as soloist with CCM Philharmonia Orchestra as the winner of the CCM Concerto Competition. In addition, he was selected as a candidate to compete at the 2019 Elmar Oliveira International Violin Competition and The Walter W. Naumburg Foundation International Competition in 2018.

 

As a soloist and chamber musician,Wang has performed in major concert venues, including Krannert Centre for the Performing Arts in Illinois, Grady Gammage Memorial Auditorium in Arizona, Merkin Concert Hall and The American Academy of Arts and Letters Auditorium in New York.

 

Wang was the Teaching Assistant of String Department Chair, Dr. Won-Bin Yim for five years and holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in violin performance at University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. There he composed and published his teaching method: Twelve Caprices for Developing Violin Techniques and Interpretation.
