Dr. Vicki Hsu is a Taiwanese-American violinist. Her recent published album, “Great Russian Works For Two Violins” receives high praise from well-known acoustician, Han Shing Liu, “...setting the bar high for the future of sound system”.

 

During her undergraduate years at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, she had the opportunity to give recitals in several musical events around Cincinnati, Ohio through CCM’s Young Artist Program. Hsu has also played in the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra and has served as the associate concertmaster and the principal second in CCM Philharmonia Orchestra under Maestro Mark Gibson. For seven summers, she has performed at the Emerging Artists Concerts at the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival in Burlington, Vermont, and worked intently with the Emerson String Quartet. In the summer of 2018 and 2019 as part of the Hotshot Chamber Music Series, Hsu collaborated with pianist, Dr. Yea-Shiuh Lin and cellist, Dr. Min-Yuan Lin from the National Sun Yat-sen University, performing works by Dvořák, Mendolssohn, and Chopin in Taipei National Concert Hall, National Taichung Theater, and Takanawa Civic Concert Hall in Tokyo, Japan.

 

Hsu completed her Bachelor of Music degree with both an Honor’s Scholarship Award and on the Dean’s List. She earned her Master of Music degree on full scholarship and continued her studies graduating with a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in violin performance from Cincinnati Conservatory under the guidance of Dr. Won-Bin Yim where she assisted his studio and attained a doctoral cognate in chamber music, working closely with the members of the Ariel String Quartet.
