Lu Siqing's First Teaching Studio Officially Launched

From January 10th to 14th, the inaugural Violin Art Week at The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao was a resounding success. The week-long event featured professional violin discussions, master classes, educational salons, and exclusive concerts. Led by the school's president, Lu Siqing, the event also attracted prominent figures from the classical music world, including experts from the Central Conservatory of Music and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

On January 13th, during a special concert, the highly anticipated Lu Siqing Violin Studio was officially launched. This studio, the first to be named after and personally led by Lu Siqing, marks a significant milestone. The unveiling ceremony in the Menuhin Hall was attended by YMSQ management, including President Lu Siqing, Head Zheng Ran, Deputy Head Mark Stringer, and Professor Wang Hong, Head of the Violin Department.

Initially, the studio will select its first group of students from The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao. Lu Siqing, along with the studio faculty, will develop personalized educational growth plans for each student, focusing on holistic education principles. The aim is to provide immersive training, tailored instruction, and meticulous guidance to maximize each student's potential. Additionally, the studio will serve as a base for selecting and nurturing outstanding young violin teachers, contributing to the development of young talents in violin education.

At the studio's inauguration, Professor Wang Hong remarked, "The violin studio combines the wisdom and resources of President Lu Siqing, providing a high-quality platform that will elevate the Violin Department to new heights."

Lu Siqing shared his thoughts: "My mentors, such as Wang Zhenshan, Yehudi Menuhin, and Dorothy DeLay, achieved exceptional educational outcomes through their teaching studios. Studying in such a setting was immensely beneficial for me. I am excited to continue this tradition, benefiting more students, young teachers, and classical music learners in Qingdao and nationwide. Through this approach, I aim to pass on my artistic experience and performance insights to aspiring musicians, nurturing their growth into future artists."

Who will be the fortunate ones selected to join the first group of students in Lu Siqing’s Violin Studio and become his direct disciples? Let’s eagerly await and see.
