In 2018, Hu Xuesha secured the sole global admission slot to the prestigious Colburn School of Music in the United States, where she earned her Doctor of Piano Performance Artist Diploma. She has achieved victory in seven international piano competitions, including first place in the 54th Jefferson International Concerto Competition in 2013, first place in the Lennox Piano Competition in 2013, first place in the Young Texas Artists Competition in 2016, first place in the 8th Bösendorfer and Yamaha USASU International Piano Competition in 2017, and first place in the International Franz Liszt Piano Competition in 2018. The Los Angeles Times referred to her as the "grand slam pianist who has swept nearly all international competition titles in the United States."


Hu has successfully performed in over 300 concerts worldwide, with her footprint spanning across more than twenty countries, including China, the United Kingdom, Hungary, Italy, Brazil, Germany, the United States, and Austria. She has been frequently invited to perform in prestigious music venues such as Carnegie Hall, New York's Merkin Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, Severance Hall in Cleveland, and the National Centre for the Performing Arts in China. Her solo concert at Merkin Hall was broadcast globally by the authoritative classical music radio station "WQXR New York" and was praised for its "spellbinding performance that captivates you in a profoundly moving way." The Phoenix Daily hailed her as the "most popular Chinese pianist," while the "Phonograph Record " magazine recognized her as the "shining star of the Asian piano scene."

 

She has collaborated with renowned orchestras worldwide, including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Phoenix Symphony, the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, and the Jefferson Symphony Orchestra in Colorado. Her exceptional playing skills and unique performance style have garnered widespread acclaim from numerous domestic and international orchestras, conductors, and musicians. Vietnamese-Canadian pianist Dang Thai Son praised her as an "unparalleled musician with extraordinary talent." Leon Fleisher commented, "Possessing exceptional technique and a versatile performance style, she is a highly anticipated Chinese pianist in the music world."

 

In 2017, she was named an Honorary Pianist of the Liszt Fest and performed twice at the opening of the Liszt Music Fest in Chicago, collaborating with the Russian maestro, Viktor Yampolsky. As a contracted pianist with the Phoenix Symphony, she has performed with the orchestra on six occasions in the United States. In 2019, her "Works of Liszt" piano solo tour took place in five countries, including the United Kingdom, the United States, and Hungary. In 2021, she completed a nationwide solo concert tour titled "Awakening Classics: Beyond Virtuosity" that spanned 20 Chinese cities. In 2022, she embarked on a nationwide solo tour titled "Classical Odyssey" that covered 30 cities, performing at renowned domestic music halls such as the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing, the National Library of China Concert Hall, and the Shenzhen Concert Hall. In 2022, she globally released her latest classical music album, "Exquisite," which was recognized as the best-selling classical album of the month by Apple Music and QQ Music.

 

Hu is not only an invited pianist with numerous American symphony orchestras but has also been invited multiple times by renowned international music festivals to perform concerts and give masterclasses. She has been frequently invited to teach masterclasses at music institutions in the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Brazil, and other countries. Her students have won several international solo concerto competition championships and gained admission to prestigious international institutions such as the Juilliard School, the Eastman School of Music, and Yale University.
