​Recently, Cambridge Assessment International Education sent out a letter to our School, approving the Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao to officially become accredited in the Cambridge School system. The School is qualified to offer IGCSE courses, A LEVEL courses (AS+A2), Cambridge CEM(Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring), and is also certified as an official Cambridge International Examination Venue. (Registered School Code: CX200)

On October 27, Wang Xiulin, Vice Chairman of Shandong Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference(CPPCC), and the delegation visited the Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao. Mr. Wang Xiulin was introduced to the current circumstance of the School by Zheng Ran, Head of the School and the music curriculum by Mark Stringer, Deputy Head of the School. Mr. Wang and the visiting group inspected the teaching facilities of the school and listened in on a music lesson.

On October 21, Deng Yunfeng, Deputy Secretary of Qingdao Municipal Party Committee, visited the Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao.Mr. Deng Yunfeng was introduced to the School’s current situation by Head Zheng Ran, and visited the academic and music building, the concert hall, rehearsal rooms, practice studios, and other facilities. Mr. Deng Yunfeng and the visiting group obtained the detailed information and situation of the faculties and music teaching, and listened in on the strings, winds, and piano lessons.

On October 11, Mr. Yu Peng, Minister Counsellor for Cultural Affairs at the Chinese embassy in the UK and Xue Ling, Director of the Chinese Tourism Office in London, visited the Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao.Yu Peng and the visiting team was introduced to the School’s faculties, curriculum and facilities by Zheng Ran, Head of the School, and was also given a brief introduction of our unique music courses by Mark Stringer, Deputy Head of the School. After that, they visited the music building, concert hall, rehearsal rooms, practice studios and other facilities of the School, and listened in on a music lesson. The School's superb facilities, professional teachers and leading educational concepts are highly appraised by Mr. Yu Peng and the visiting team.

October 1st of this year is to celebrate the 73rd National Day of China, which is a grand festival for the country. On the evening of September 29, the Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao National Day Concert was held in the Menuhin Hall. A strong group of performers included 14 professional teachers: Cai Lei, Chang TzuTi, Chen Xueqing, Dai Zhonghui, He Shucong, Keith Lipson, Patrick Lechner, Shi He, Tymur Melnyk, Vicki Hsu, Wang Boyang, Wang Yuwen, Wang Ziyue, Yu Mingqing and student representatives.

August 17 was a beautiful day as it was between late summer and early autumn. The red flag with five distinct yellow stars rose high above the campus as the national anthem sang. The staff of The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao and the representatives of Qingdao Urban Construction Group (the host of the School) all gathered on the brand new campus to celebrate this important moment.

On the afternoon ofAugust 11, Yu Long,a internationally renowned conductor, music director of China Philharmonic Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra as well as the Chairman of the Symphony Orchestra League of China Musicians Association and the association members visited the Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao. Members present include the heads and music directors of the symphony orchestras from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Qingdao and other cities.

On July 9th, the donation project proposed by Shiping Foundation to the Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao became official. Mr. Wang Naixin, the Secretary General of Shiping Foundation, and Lu Siqing, President of the Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao, signed the donation agreement of ”The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao Weigiao Scholarship" on behalf of the Foundation and the School with two million CNY donated by Shiping Foundation. The scholarship program will mainly support the School for selecting outstanding young talents and recruiting domestic and overseas teachers. It also supports teachers and students that participate in international exchangesvarious music related activities. It also gives financial support and rewards towards excellent students and promote the development of China's music and arts career.

On June 24th, President Lu Siqing held the School Affairs Meeting of the Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao in June, and listened to the content of the preparations for the opening of the School this fall and the report on the school's activities in summer 2022. He made arrangements for the key events before the new semester begin, such as the use of school facilities, teacher training, the improvement of the curriculum, concert tour, and enrollment. He also made a systematic plan for the Summer School schedule and for the music competition.
